Meeting Fellow Kossacks--a REAL honor

At the Clint Curtis Kickoff in my hometown of Winter Springs, I got to meet one of the big Kahuna's at DailyKos, DarkSyde. He drove from Titusville to come to support Clint Curtis and his new bid to fight the most corrupt person in Congress right now, our own Tom Feeney.

By the way, in case you don't know, DKos is the largest political blog, left or right, on the internet today. It gets over half a million visitors a day, and every major player in the Democratic party has something to do with DailyKos, either by attending the YearlyKos or posting diaries or working with the netroots organizations.

It has also been very, very good to me. Each Recommended diary I have had has been seen by thousands of people, and each time I get many new readers to this blog. The cool thing is that ANY diary has exactly the same chance to be on the exclusive Recommended list. If you write well, and people like what you have to say, they recommend it. That's it. It's so freaking Democratic, no wonder the right-wing hates it. As DarkSyde so eloquently put it, the right-wing is used to putting out propoganda with no input. You can't do that on blogs, because if you lie, tons of people will post comments to correct you. There isn't the spin control and the talking points that are so prevalent on the right-wing medium: Talk (hate) radio.

I'd also like to give a shout out to some very intelligent, Kick Ass Kossack Dems that I had the honor of meeting: Greg and Susan. I hope to meet them again at other Dem functions.

Finally, I'd like to recommend a website for another blogger I met, www.justanothercoverup.com.

One last thing, I spoke with the communications chair, G.K., of the local Dem party. I will be blogging to the official Seminole Dem site once again from time to time (I have a link to it on the right).

The meeting of great minds alone was enough to make it a great time. I didn't even mention the important guests and the great speeches given (and of course, the food). I will have to talk about that another time. I am humbled by the people who came up to tell me they link to my site and enjoy my writing. I would try to post more if I had known.

Thanks for all of your support. You guys are fantastic; and you have inspired me to do more.

  1. Nice to meet you, too! I was there until 11:30, helping to clean up! It was a good night, though. Go, Clint!
